Trauma Nursing Core Course 8th edition (TNCC)

TNCC Provider is a standardized, interactive course recognized internationally for providing RN’s core level trauma knowledge. It presents the fundamentals of an organized, prioritized approach to the care of trauma patients by incorporating the latest evidenced-based knowledge and technological advances. RN participants receive a TNCC verification card upon successful completion of the written exam and performance of the skill station testing. Verification is valid four years from the end of the month in which the course is completed. Non-RN’s in an emergency care setting may audit the provider course and will receive a Certificate of Attendance.

***The TNCC manual is recommended reading prior to the beginning of the 2 day course. It is provided to the participants upon paid registration***

  • Airway and Ventilation
  • Shock
  • Brain and Cranial Trauma
  • Abdominal trauma
  • Burns
  • Disaster Management
  • Musculoskeletal trauma
  • Psychosocial Aspects of Trauma
  • Spinal Cord Trauma

Special populations: Pediatrics, Older Adults, Pregnant Patients

Interactive skill sessions: Management of the Injured Trauma Patient, Airway interventions, Spinal Cord immobilization and Helmet removal

18.3 Nursing Continuing Education Contact Hours granted for attendance of all sessions

Individual institution courses may be arranged for a minimum of 6 students to be held at the institution location. Contact the Western New York Course Coordinator for details.
